EYE CARE
In Scotland all eye examinations are provided for free as they are paid by NHS Scotland. At G. Reid Opticians our highly trainers friendly Optometrists perform all the eye checks needed to ensure your eyes remain as healthy as possible, ensuring you can benefit from clear vision.
We pride ourselves in providing the eyecare needed dependent on the needs of each individual patient. Your examination will last approximately forty minutes as we use the latest eye examination technology to establish the condition of your eyes. We also offer a 3D retinal scan (OCT) to look into far greater detail at the health of your inner eye and identify a range of potential conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. All eye conditions are easier to treat if detected early.
The charge for this more detailed testing is £18. Please know there is no obligation to have the OCT test as part of your NHS eye check.
